In connection with the anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution, organized by the Hungarian Consulate General in Los Angeles, a memorial ceremony took place in the Bel Air Club House on 22 October 2015. The event took place with the participation of about 80 such famous personalities as Commissioner Andrew Friedman and former Los Angeles sheriff, David Leroy Baka, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of governmental organizations and different associations.

As part of the ceremony a reception with wine presentation also took place. Consul General of Hungary in Los Angeles Dr. László Kálmán underlined in his speech the role of Hungarian wines in strengthening the national identity of Hungarians abroad, touched upon the initiative of “Wines of Excellence” launched with the support of Hungarian Government as well as the wine promotion program opened out for the US, too.

The wines paired with the Hungarian dishes and the opportunities residing in business co-operation and tourism in relation to the wines were presented by Attila Balla, President and CEO of Vinum Tokaj International LLC.

As result of the on-site discussions concluded, preparation of two business trips has already started to bring to the Tokaj Wine Region US decision makers and professionals in the near future.
