The culture of wine is an integral part of the European culture. It is based on the grape, local viticulture, terroir, specific microclimate, the experience of wine making accumulated during centuries, which all contribute to and have a great effect on the final products properties and qualities.
In co-operation between Vinum Tokaj International and Vinum Tokaj Canada in July and September 2014, two wine tours were organized for Canadian wine experts to the Tokaj Wine Region.
During the program the Canadian guests - wine distributor and wine collector professionals - got acquainted with the region's grape varieties, vineyards peculiarities, the winemaking traditions, attended wine tastings and paid visits to those wineries which constantly compete with their wines on national and international level, win prestigious awards and are ready to be introduced to Canadian wine experts and consumers, too.
The aim of the program is to introduce the Tokaj wines to those professionals and decision makers who could help the process of their market building, promotion and sales increase.
