Leaders of Canadian wine distributor companies attended the Tokaj wine dinner and presentation organized at Tokaj Wine Boutique Restaurant in Toronto on February 19th 2015.
Restaurants owner, Sandor Balla stressed the efforts that have been taken for more than a year by representatives of Vinum Tokaj Canada and Vinum Tokaj International to make the Hungarian wines known as widely as possible on the Canadian market. As a result of this work, a unique wine package, a selection of six Hungarian wines was designed and put together by the Vinum Tokaj companies and - in relation to the year-end holidays delivered to six Canadian companies to reach out through them about 600 potential future buyers.
Attila Balla, Chairman of the Vinum Tokaj International, presented the wine selection package, described the actions of Canadian wine promotion project to date and underlined the potential and possibilities of co-operation with Hungarian wineries. The selection of wines which were served during the dinner that followed the presentations, were introduced to the guest by sommelier Joseph Safian. In his show he highlighted the specific, one-off characteristics of the Tokaj Wine Region and wines with special focus on the inherent potential of the Tokaj dry wines, and awards won by these products in recent years at different international competitions.
By organizing the wine dinner and presentation, the hosts aimed to help Canadian distributors get familiarized with the Hungarian wines, generate market demand for them, and to draw up long-term co-operation opportunities.
