It was a gratifying event that we attended on the 17th of April in Toronto. That was the date when the Consular Mission of Hungary officially reopened. The opening ceremony had among the noted guests Szabolcs Takács, Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Michael Coteau Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, László Pordány, Ambassador of Hungary to Canada, and Dimitris Azemopoulos, Dean of Consular Corps in Toronto.
The event was hosted by Consul General Stefánia Szabó, who has given a powerful support not only to the Consulates reopening, but also to the process of introducing the Tokaj wines on the Canadian market.
Dániel Mendelényi, travelling Ambassador for International Business Development of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry and dr. Ödön Király, Economic and Trade Commissioner to Toronto, attended with representatives of Vinum Tokaj Canada and Vinum Tokaj International the meeting at LCBO, the Liquid Control Board of Ontario to discuss the possibilities of importing Tokaj wines into the province.
The Province of Ontario is considered to be one of the most dynamically growing parts of Canada, which is home also of the 50% of cca. 315.000 Hungarian Canadians living in the country. We rely on them as well as devoted promoters and consumers of Tokaj wines.
